l NS Motorpost Unit
These single unit postal vans are now all out of use following the loss of Post Office traffic with the exception of a small number used for departmental work. Built in 1965-6 they are based on the Plan V units but differ in having conventional drawgear and buffers enabling them to haul a trailing load of up to 5 special 4 wheel postal vans. When in traffic most were used at night and were often stabled in and around stations adn PTT depots during the say.
