NS Class 1800 Locomotives

This class of loco has come about through the renumbering of Class 1600. Originally 58 Locomotives of Class 1600 were delivered to NS between 1981 and 1983 and they were used on all types of train. Following the split of the NS business into separate accounting functions, Class 1600 was split between Railion (NS Railfreight) and NS Reizigers.There are now 35 Class 1800 with NS-R and the balance as Class 1600 with Railion

Locomotive 1838 was badly damaged in an accident at Amsterdam Central in 2004. It is now located at Roosendaal waiting disposal. Click here from some pictures taken by Rodney Beech whilst the loco was undergoing assessment at Tilburg Works
